I am also narcoleptic. valence and now I understand many things I have going on for years, now I'm not sleepy but let me rest when I need it. I like to talk to any woman who has had a several children to see him gone. I have one and I think the pregnancy or breast-feeding were the ones who triggered more drowsiness.
Hello, I have a concern that I would like to share: Is it possible that the symptoms of narcolepsy are in any way related to the degree of creativity? No one has told what Sleeping Beauty dreams ... I imagine it could be the most interesting part of history. My psychiatrist told me to consult with the neurologist, until now believed that my trip is due to psychological stress for an anxiety disorder, but the weird part is that my paternal uncles and cousins also sleep in unusual situations ... and is (are) all very creative.
Hi Rachel, what does your psychiatrist demonstrates his broad-mindedness. You should verun neurologist. Creativity .... It's hard to explain but there is something. Probably has to do with the brain area that is greater or less activity. It would be nice to have you come to the forum and do a post with this topic, if you did not already. When Ann was in Argentina from USA told us about a group dedicated to the art! and yes, I know of writers, musicians and would have to see who else tells us what things are extended in art expression. I write. Do not count the dreams are nightmares .......
Hello, how are you? Narcolepsy discovered my neurologist 6 months ago and I still am somewhat adapted to medicine and the things I have to do about it (I'm much better but could be even more). What I want is to know whether, in Argentina, there is some kind of meeting between people with Narcolepsy in which perhaps can be drawn from all doubts and discuss what happens. Thank you very much and best regards, Gonzalo.
Hi Gonzalo, no meetings, you're in Capital? send your details to info @ tengonarcolepsia and contacted you. There are two people waiting, we could not meet before. A love Sleeping Beauty
Alejanda hello mother of a teenager with narcolepsy, it was diagnosed in April of 2010, is in treatment since then and while much improved what worries me is the attacks of cataplexy. I would like to receive any comments or words of support, I need it. thank you very much.
I'm from La Plata (Argentina), and I have Narcolepsy. I was diagnosed on November last year (2010), but I'm still making me study. Actually, I have no doubt about it, yeah, I love to know if one day I lead a "normal life", as it is quite uncomfortable to hold a day of study and work without being really bad all day. Too much sleep, as all will know, and that gives me headaches, arrhythmia, hypopneas, etc ... Well, people, thank you for this space, and all who visit ...
Hi all, I have 40 years and was diagnosed with narcolepsy at 18 in the Buenos Aires Institute FLENI ie took 22 years to be aware of my limitations. For those who are young would not know who to suggest, just do not feel useless, disabled, try to live fully every moment of your life. Accept your limitations and guide your life with it. I to 30 depended entirely on my family. I was afraid to live, to find work and to be cast. The things that made life today is Professor of mathematics, I am independent, I assert my rights at work, family and I formed physician. probe above all. the famous TAMILAN to sleep instead of 10 times in the day are 5, vigicer today, more expensive less effective. They saw that the degrees of intensity of our disease vary. I would love this comment to convey all my experiences to help in the least to some. those who want to contact me, no master in drama, my mail is francisconahid@hotmail.com

Hello, few days ago that I come interested by this disease because I have a close friend who I think, the suffering. I have seen the BBC documentary and I have researched almost everything I've been online, but I wonder if there is a book written about narcolepsy both medical specialists and by writers who simply take the issue to write a novel. Please if anyone knows a title may facilitate here. Thank you very much.
Hi all! my name is and I'm from Colombia Jonatha! I am currently doing a docuemntal on narcoplesia, I would like to meet someone who pedesca of this disease in BOGOTA COLOMBIA! if someone on this board can help me agradeciar them enough! many thanks in advance!
Hi I'm Toni, of Valencia.España. if you have doubts I suffer 15 years. Or if you want to write about Narcolepsy. contact with me ... To be positive about everything in your life. Little by little fellow gettin your goals. LIFE IS HARD ..
Hi all, I have Narcolepsy for 7 years, dx me Dr. Reisin in British Hospital, only a good history, polysomnography and also asked me to test latency, of course it was confirmed, I initially thought it was Low Pressure, then by stress, work overload, ... until I began to have drop attacks without loss of consciousness, why get pregnant consulté.Al my 3 son, spent 3 years that I forgot the suffering , but not unbearable dream had cataplexy. In 2009 I started again with the caplexia, consulted in Rosario with the Dr.Aldaz sleep disorder specialist, I repeated the polisom and latency test, I was medicated with venlaflaxina and started having a life a little more pleasant. This year was terrible because I am a pediatrician and had guards 24 Hs in neonatology. The nights were unbearable to me. I was lucky that I moved to Motherhood that I love, but the fact commute to Santa Fe was the trigger I think I started having episodes of cataplexy up to 3 times per day and with a duration of 25 min. I am currently in a protocol with Dr. Podesta in Buenos Aires Then they tell you how sigo.Gracias to give this space I needed to tell other people my illness.
Thank you Claudia for telling your experience because we all need to reaffirm the idea of having a disease maybe "weird" or better disseminated. I hope that Doc Podesta and at this stage you can find the treatment tailoring are times such as what you describe. The disease has high and low and thus to each their symptoms and medications. I am glad to read you and if you are in Buenos Aires or travel you return to send an email to tengonarcolepsia@hotmail.com and tell you about our Association Narcolepsy and hypersomnia in Argentina from which we hope to be part. A greeting!
Hello Fernando, I share with you the subject of modafinil, and chronic depression, like many other narcoleptic ... but what struck me in your post was the issue of disc herniations: I with my just turned 36 years, I have three herniated discs, cervical and lumbar two. I would like you to tell me what is the link between narcolepsy and hernias, if you found it, and how to improve because I am in search of ways to improve my quality of life. I tell you the last cervical hernia cause me headaches, dizziness, ringing, and I was referred to a physiotherapist does RPG (global postural rehabilitation) which is a very effective technique for these cases. Any information you can provide, will be more than grateful, and feel free to ask me anything. Greetings and have a beautiful day ....
People, is a neuroscience center that has an analysis of sleep in the building next to the hospital teacher. She does not treat patients but may refer to one that can make life easier. As I said in previous comments I lived some years taking Provigil, mienstras could use it to keep my life profecional active, having a job and meet the commitments of this. Friends, do not find the cause of narcolepsy, so be very difficult to find a way to cure it. We must learn to live with it. I advise you to use the drug by the time they need to adjust their lives to this condition. Seek help from a mental health profecional, the need ... My psychiatrist is Nelsa Rodriguez (787-256-0273), is in the marginal Loiza Valley. She conose our problem and will understand, guide them and help them adjust their ...
GREETINGS FROM MEXICO TO ALICE MEYER, NORMA narcoleptic 31 YEARS AND DOES NOT TAKE DRUGS BUT HE NEVER been paralyzed or anything like that, BUT I fall asleep.
Dr. Sanchez Longo (Hospital del Maestro) Hato Rey, older but good. It's frustrating, I have 2 babies, a job which I'm late every day, a car I hardly use q and a life that seems taken from a surrealist work! I hate sleeping, I hate my dreams, nobody understands me is hopeless and just give you pills to stay awake! No need to stay awake, I need to sleep like everyone else!
Hello, I always try is to know where we can have free care hospital. Hospitals such as German, British, Italian and others have units sleep, many more. I dare not recommend because each person has found a different experience. The institute that you mention do not know, try to tell me, but if we are deprived of it, if it is not social work or pre-pay is complicated. On the use of modafinil, I think that should say a doctor, may not be appropriate medication even if you have hypersomnia then prescribe others. Greetings!
I really do not bother asking here is that the issue is well understood to have to explain everything and if I could go better, but no matter I ask you. The public or social work mmmmm ... I think that's going to complicate it further than I have (I live in southern, Berazategui) and social work was difficult but I managed to get enough. But tell me one thing: the Fleni is recommended mostly to the consultation? because my problem is the diagnosis, because I go crazy because the doctors tell me saven. Then I need to go to a place where dreams and try to know all the problems you may have. In summary, the Fleni what other options? Does the German hospital or IFN (Institute of neurologís Ferrero) know them? PS: If some saves have taken modafinil and do not ...
Hi Jonathan, blog and forum were hacked, and lost the Forum. For now it is complex operating it again. If you do not want to reflect your query pruned tengonarcolepsia@hotmail.com you write to advance free places of which I spoke a hospital is the Posadas and I (to be confirmed) Ramos Mejia is the unit especially when sleep is second opinion because you were treated at the Hospital de Clinicas ...... although I believe no polysomnograph Clinics! The other places, there are serious and not so much because they may have computers but must be evaluated and a few years ago I went for the social work a dreadful place, I was just the mini portable polysomnographic and even though the door closed, or TV is listening to those who did, the phone .... in short, the least serious. Then one of ...
Hello, Sleeping Beauty, if not the right place to ask, but you still walk the forum (narcolepsia.com.ar)? because you can not enter the site. The truth we need to ask, I forget who it was who had told me to pass me to go places to study in Argentina, and I told him I was going to finish first look at some things and then asked well. In any case I ask you, I have a constant sleepiness and hypersomnia take a modafinil (vigicer in Argentina) and I had no effect, even with a tablet (200mg) and not to think about. Although rather tell it on the forum by the sequence more than anything, so I hope your answer. Thank you.
